Meet our Family Support Team

Kathryn Langran and Tina Merry

At Castle School, we understand that supporting our pupils means supporting the whole family. That’s why we’re proud to have a dedicated and experienced Family Support Team in place.

What do Kathryn and Tina do?

Hello, we are Family Support Workers at Castle School.  Our role involves providing various aspects of support for children, young people and their families.

This includes supporting with:

  • Providing a listening ear and identifying the needs of the family
  • Communication between families/schools and other professionals
  • Parent/carer support sessions
  • Wellbeing and guidance for parents/carers and young people
  • Signposting and referrals to external support services
  • Assistance with completing paperwork and forms e.g. DLA/PIP/Blue badge
  • Attendance and school transitions
  • School transport applications / concerns
  • Attending meetings
  • Support for any challenges that may occur for children and their families in any given situation.
     

We are passionate about supporting and empowering families to make positive changes.

If you require support, please complete our Family Support referral form via the link or QR code and your request will be triaged. Tina and/or Kathryn will then contact you to discuss and arrange support.
If you have any difficulties accessing the link and/or completing the form online, please ask your child’s class teacher for support. Alternatively, you can also request a paper copy of the referral form from the school reception.
