Governors
Our Governing Body is an active, supportive and representative group whose members are fully involved in all aspects of school life; working closely with the staff, parents and pupils to ensure outstanding provision for all who learn and work together at Castle.
The Governing Body is made up of a combination of 14 appointed, elected or co-opted members. We have two subcommittees to which we have delegated responsibilities, namely Resources and Quality of Education (recently amended from Teaching & Learning).

Clerk to governors
The Governing Board currently has 2 Co-Opted Governor vacancies from 13th May 2025.
Goals
The Governing Body has three core functions:
- Ensuring clarity of the vision, ethos and strategic direction.
- Holding the executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the school(s) and its pupils and the effective and efficient performance management of staff.
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school(s) and making sure that its money is well spent.
Governors have a general responsibility for the effective management of the school, acting within the framework set by National Legislation and by school policies. They are responsible to parents, the Local Authority and the Secretary of State for this management.
