Guided reading is a shared approach to reading which​ encourages students to develop their ability to:

• read​ aloud
• share reading strategies
• discuss prose, narrative and word choice
• explore structure, ​layout and text type

Students work in a small groups and ​all have the same text.  They take it in turns to read aloud and follow others while they read.
