Our Association

Castle School Charity Association (CSCA) raises money to fund resources and opportunities that enhance learning and wellbeing for our pupils. The money raised is spent on advancing their education by providing educational assistance, facilities, support, and services not normally provided by the Local Authority.

Funds help provide funding for a range of activities that enhance the learning and wellbeing of pupils including:

  • Specialist sensory and communication equipment.
  • Music, drama, and outdoor learning opportunities.
  • Trips and visits that bring learning to life.
  • 6th form Prom.

In the last few years, we have received large contributions from the following organisations:

  • Cambridge University Press – a donation to develop the library.
  • St Johns College – donations for a sound beam and more recently money towards the Immersive Space.
  • Tesco – donation to support the Sensory Equipment.
  • Alan Boswell Group Charitable Trust.
  • Aceton - donation to support cycling and school projects.
  • AstraZeneca – donations to support science projects.
  • Masonic Lodge.

This is in addition to donations from Cresset Group, Arnold Clark, Melanie Archer, Sally Abbott, Waffle + Co.

We have also been lucky to receive sponsorship from:

  • The Rotary Club – Sponsoring events such as Wimpole Day out and Midsummer fair.
  • Compare the Market – Sponsoring the Triathlon.
  • Cultivate for Change – Developing the kitchen garden.

We look forward to hearing from you

Castle School Charity Shop – Get Involved!

Our charity shop is more than just a fundraising space – it's a work-related learning opportunity for our students. They help run the shop as part of their curriculum, gaining valuable skills in communication, retail, and independence.

You can support the shop by:

  • Donating good-quality clothing, toys, books, and household items.

  • Volunteering your time in the shop alongside staff and students.

  • Spreading the word in your local community.

  • Coming in for a browse or a bargain!

Every item donated and every hour volunteered helps support both our pupils’ education and our wider school community.

Opening Times - 10:00 to 14:30, Wednesday to Friday (term-time only)

Other SEND provisions open on Mondays and Friday afternoons (term-time only)

We are looking for volunteers to run the shop on Tuesdays. Please contact the school office: office@castle.cambs.sch.uk or call 01223 442400 and ask to speak to Clare Laidler if you are interested.

Thank you for being part of the Castle School community. Together, we can make a real and lasting difference.
