37 hrs hours per week Monday to Friday, Term-time plus 5 days

8.00am to 4.00pm (30 minutes daily lunch break

Castle School is an Area Special School in Cambridge serving 240 pupils with special needs ranging from 4 to 19 years of age.  We are looking for a senior administrator to join our team.  The role will work across our main site on Courtney Way and our Early Years provision, which is co-located with The Fields Nursery on Galfrid Rd Cambridge. 

To work as part of the administration team supporting the school in attaining its aims and objectives by providing reception duties, administering pupil data, supporting effective communication and building positive relationships with our families, other care and support services and member of the public. Previous experience of working in a school office or special school would be beneficial, but not essential provided you can demonstrate a commitment to keeping our students safe and an understanding of the particular challenges when keeping students with special educational needs safe.

You will often be the first point of contact for visitors and those phoning or emailing the school.  A confident, clear communication style will be an asset to you in this role.  You will be handling sensitive and confidential information, so you should be able to demonstrate that you are discrete, trustworthy and able to remain calm in challenging situations.  You will liaise regularly with the wide range of professionals who work with our students.  Care is required when sharing data with other services.  Good attention to detail is essential and an understanding of Data Protection Regulations would be beneficial, but training will be provided.
