Welcome to Stirling Class.
Our formal Key Stage 4 classes provide a supportive and purposeful learning environment where students continue to Be Kind, Be Confident and Be Creative, while becoming increasingly independent and taking greater ownership of their learning and future aspirations.
Building on the foundations developed in KS3, students follow a broad and meaningful curriculum, with English, Maths and PSHE continuing as our golden threads. Learning is personalised around each student’s strengths, interests, EHCP outcomes and future goals, with students working towards appropriate OCR accreditation that recognises and celebrates their skills, knowledge and achievements.
There is a strong focus on applying learning in practical and real-life contexts. Students develop their literacy, numeracy, communication, problem-solving and digital skills alongside opportunities to build confidence, resilience, self-regulation and positive relationships.
Preparation for Adulthood is central to our KS4 curriculum. Students develop skills for greater independence, community participation and healthy relationships, alongside an increasing focus on preparation for employment. Through meaningful experiences, students explore the world of work, develop employability skills, understand expectations in the workplace and begin to identify their own strengths, interests and aspirations for the future.
Above all, we celebrate progress, achievement and growing independence, supporting each student to develop the confidence, skills and understanding they need to make informed choices and take their next steps towards further learning, employment and adult life.
