Welcome to our class!
We are a small and nurturing Primary class on the Pre-formal Reactive pathway, where learning begins with strong relationships, meaningful interactions and lots of fun! We create a safe and responsive environment where every learner is supported to Be Kind, Be Confident and Be Creative in their own individual way.
Our learners experience the world through play, exploration and multisensory learning. Termly topics are inspired by favourite stories, which we bring to life through sensory experiences, music, movement, communication and play. These engaging experiences provide meaningful opportunities to work towards each learner’s individual EHCP outcomes, responding to their interests, strengths and ways of communicating.
Our golden threads are embedded naturally throughout the day. Early literacy, numeracy, communication and personal development grow through stories, songs, routines, anticipation, cause and effect, shared experiences and interactions with familiar adults.
Being a small class allows us to know our learners exceptionally well, noticing and responding to their individual communication, preferences and engagement. We provide opportunities to make choices, develop early independence, build relationships and begin to understand themselves and the world around them – laying important foundations for Preparation for Adulthood.
Above all, every interaction matters and every step is celebrated. We want our learners to feel safe, understood and valued, developing the confidence and curiosity to connect, explore and enjoy their learning journey.
Class Information
Bees class is a class with Pre-Formal Reactive Learners.
Curriculum: delivered through a blend of specialist interventions and engaging and motivating experiences, adapted and enriched using themes and texts.
Progress and achievement: tracked and celebrated via Evidence for Learning using PLGs and the Engagement Profile
Targets set using: Routes for Learning, Birth to 5, AET framework, Communication Framework, Engagement model and advice from other professionals such as SALT and OT .
