Castle School

School day

8.50am - 3.20pm

Our learners arrive at school in a variety of ways. The majority arrive on school transport.

Cars and minibuses park around the school carpark and unload their passengers once they reach the path in front of the school. School staff are on hand to greet the learners and help them into school. Parents walking with their children take them into the 6th form courtyard to be greeted there by school staff. The school opens at 8.50am.

At the end of the day the minibuses arrive and park around the school car park in rows of 3. Classes have different end of day routines, allowing for calm and independent transition between home and school.

Our independent travellers leave at 3pm, to allow them to exit safely from the school grounds before the buses depart.

Learners collected by parents leave at 3.10pm, this allows them to safely depart from the school site before the buses leave.

Learners on school transport are supported to locate their bus or car. This is marked on a board so that staff and independent pupils can easily find the correct transport. When all the students are safely on board, buses are given to go-ahead to depart. This is by 3.20pm.
