Castle School

Admissions

The decision regarding which school your child should attend is a big one for the whole family, so we welcome visits to see our school and encourage you to look at the breath of information on our website.

If you would like to visit, and your child has (or is the process of being assessed for) an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) please contact the school office on 01223 442400 or email offfice@castle.cambs.sch.uk to make an appointment.

During your visit you will usually have a tour of the school with the Assistant Head of the appropriate Key Stage and the chance to meet with staff, pupils and the Headteacher. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and to consider if Castle can meet your child’s needs.

All school admissions are co-ordinated and managed by the Local Authority, so to apply for a place at Castle you would need to raise this with your child's current school and also contact their SEND caseworker. The caseworker at the Local Authority will then send us your child's consultation papers (contact details for the Statutory Assessment Team are provided further down this page).

If a place is confirmed the Local Authority will prepare the appropriate paperwork for your child’s admission and agree a start date with yourself and school. Transport will also be considered, where appropriate.

Please do read the document below for more information regarding our admission arrangements and contact the school if you have any questions.
