Foxes Class
Welcome
Class Teacher: Sarah Parish
Level 3: Diana Figueria
Foxes class is a fun, happy, calm and engaging pre-formal class of primary students.
Each term we have an overarching theme and a book which we base our learning on. Most of our learning is based around attention and listening, communication and developing our independence. We also have plenty of opportunities throughout the day for sensory breaks, messy exploration and sensory circuits, where we are encouraged to develop our self-regulation, social and interaction skills.
We all thrive off routine and predictability, so our day follows a very consistent structure and most of our sessions follow an Attention Autism-based approach which helps us predict what is happening next and fosters our engagement, attention and listening skills.
Communication is a very important part of the day, and we all enjoy intensive interaction, social time and touch and groove. Throughout the day, we are encouraged to use different means to communicate, such as communication boards and Makaton to make choices, to engage with our friends and to comment on what is happening.
We like to celebrate our achievements and our learning alongside what we have enjoyed through observations on Evidence for Learning.
Most of all, in Foxes class, we like to have fun!
