We currently have a vacancy for a Residential Estates Officer. 

As Estates Officer, you will report to the School Business Manager, helping to keep the school a safe, clean and engaging environment for our students to learn in.  The role is residential and a detached 3-bedroom house with off-road parking, adjacent to the main school site, is provided at a subsidised rent for the purpose of carrying out the duties of the role.

You will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of how to work safely in our school and excellent attention to detail.  You will be calm and flexible in the face of changing priorities and be able to remain focused in a busy environment.  Whilst experience in a special school or similar environment would be helpful in this role, it is not essential. 

As a key-holder you will share responsibility for securing the premises.  Previous experience of key holding duties is not essential as training will be provided.  However, you will be able to demonstrate that you are trustworthy, reliable and are able to work methodically to agreed procedures.

A key aspect of the role is to carry out minor repairs to the school and supervise the work of specialist contractors.  So experience of working in a site team, construction industry or similar multi-trades environment is essential.  The successful candidate will set high expectations for themselves and others and have good attention to detail. 

The working hours will be 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday.  There is an expectation that the successful candidate would be able to work flexibly.  A reasonable amount of paid overtime is a necessary part of the role.
